Another Update-Back Matter from Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power and welcome to another publication update about the book that started this whole blogging thing! Grab your coffee and come on in. 🙂

So I got an email from the design department, more specifically the person who will be creating our cover! She is so, so, so nice! She asked me to confirm three questions. The first was the title; the second said: “Subtitle: None.” And the third confirmed my pen name. So, did you catch that second question?

I don’t mean to give the impression of being double-minded so let me share with you that when there was that tug-of-war going on with the editor, I felt I was to let go, until the next phase! See, I truly believe that “The Men in and out of Her Life” is supposed to be on the cover as a subtitle. So would you join me in praying about this very thing? He will have the final say!

I have something more to share with you about this soon-to-be-released novel; it’s what they call in the industry “the back matter.” It’s what you read on the backside of a book telling you what it’s about! So before it comes to the bookstores, I’m sending it out to you! I hope you like it! 🙂

“Lacey, I’m not going to make it.”

“What do you mean? Do we need to leave later?”

“I’m not coming home. I can’t do this anymore. I’ll be in touch.”

With one telephone call, Lacey’s seven-year marriage was over, almost as if it had never happened, and once again, she is back to single and single-parenting her teen-age son while trying to juggle her career and search for love too.

Coming from a broken home, Lacey yearns for family and wants her son to have everything he needs. But would the cost be her own happiness? Struggling with her job and her parental duties, Lacey relies on her girlfriends to provide a break from her hectic life. They encourage her to get out there and meet a man, live a little.

Her season of singleness begins with twenty-eight-year-old Ian. He’s fun for a while and great for her ego, but Lacey soon finds out that raising a child and dating at the same time are exhausting, especially with a guy so much younger. But when a friend from the gym who has been a positive constant in her and her son’s life asks her out, Lacey realizes their friendship holds potential. When things go too far too soon, Lacey crashes into her worst fears and their friendship crumbles.

With the help of her counselor, friends and an encouraging voice within, Lacey learns the most valuable lesson she could: Going Back to Single is not always a bad thing.

So, that’s the back cover! I’ll keep you posted on the title, because there just may be a subtitle after all, and other details too!

Love and smiles,

Evinda

Pretty cool back matter words I think. Kinda of peeks the interest and gives a little insight into what this novel is about. Yep, praying about that sub-title. We will see what God has to say if it is to be.
