Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power: Publication Update and The Bigger Picture!

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power! Thanks so very much for coming by. I hope you’ve signed the guest book and accepted the confirmation for our drawing coming up this Sunday!!! We will announce the winner on Monday. Let’s grab our favorite beverage and chat for a few minutes. I’d like to share some news with all of you as well as some thoughts that just won’t go away that lead to the bigger picture!

It looks as though we’re getting closer to our editor taking “The Men In & Out of Her Life” to Trident Agency. I don’t know about you, but it sure feels like a long time has gone by and yet, life is so full and busy for all of us. The truth is life has been extremely challenging and difficult for my editor and his wife over the last three months. To give you a little history, they are an amazing couple who adopted a boy and a girl from Russia many years ago, and it wasn’t long before they discovered that their adopted son had autism, among other things.

I can’t even begin to do their story justice, so for those of you who have time, Mary, Pat’s wife, blogs almost daily and it’s called ‘When Rain Hurts,” so feel free to check it out. She’s an amazing writer and does a great job of explaining what they are learning, what they have already overcome, and the mountains they’ve yet to climb.

That being said, Pat has not been able to work on the final edit of our book until recently. He’s sent me a third of it with the final edits/questions and additions, and he will have another third to me next week. The final third should be right behind.

Here’s the really cool thing: So he and Mary are climbing some amazing mountains in their own strength and Pat is reviewing this book at the same time. When we talked on the phone the other day, his last comments were: “Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your words of encouragement, and thank you for writing such a good book!” I was floored, not just by the compliment, but by the timing. Oh that the Voice throughout the book would resonate the reality of God in his and Mary’s heart.

For those of you who believe in the power of prayer, would you pray for Pat and Mary, specifically that they could/would see God working in their incredibly difficult situation and allow Him to strengthen them and bring them victory in their lives as well as Peter’s, their autistic son.

When I look at all of the pieces of this book-writing journey, I know in my heart that there’s so much more than the publication of this book that will be accomplished!

Have an awesome day and, please, come back tomorrow because without U, there is no Us!

Thank you for sharing some info about the editor and his family. It really puts a personal touch to this whole story. I don’t think I ever feel that an editor is actually a real person. It always seems to be an entity.

I can’t wait to see your son. When I read his comments, it’s hard to believe there were ever any conflicts in his life. Lordy, he is sooo normal now. I would like to meet this “new” person.

    Talk to you soon.
