Five Ways to Succeed in Life & Love-Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power and thanks so very much for joining me for a little break today, the first day of this series. Grab your coffee and come on in. 🙂

I have learned so much from this series I’m going to share with you and yet I’ve more to learn so I’m looking forward to going through it with you and bringing our lives into it. To get started, let’s imagine that we’ve just received a dictionary and as we open it up to the introduction, there is a paragraph that challenges us with an assignment. That assignment is to find five words that would help us succeed in life and love. Sounds daunting, doesn’t it? Perhaps a bit overwhelming and a huge stretch? Actually, that’s how I used to feel about reading the Bible, but anyway . . .

So you can put the dictionary away, temporarily that is, because I’ve got those five words! Not that I can take any credit for finding them because He gave them to me in one of our times together! 🙂

As I go through and reveal the words, I will offer the Hebrew and Greek definitions, usually first, and then move on to the Webster’s dictionary definition and then wrap up with one or more applications for the word. Sounds like a lot, I know, but hey, we only have five ways/words to succeed in life and love, and I don’t know about you, but I want to learn all I can so I can succeed! 🙂

Now let’s reveal the first word: RESOLVE. According to the Hebrew and Greek Concordance, “Resolve means to come to know, understand by experience.” Now here’s the diamond in this definition, the jewel that makes this whole word sparkle ever so brilliantly: “Such knowledge is not obtained my mere intellectual activity, but by operation of the Holy Spirit.

Is it any wonder that we’re not nearly as successful as we could be in life and love? Could it be that we show up to each of these — life and love — without His Spirit? Could it be that we resolve to do certain things, resolve to become a certain way, resolve to be somebody to someone without the spiritual component of ourselves?

I would be willing to bet that we have, we do and will continue to do so if we don’t learn to draw on His Spirit that is within all of us who have accepted Him as our Savior.

We’ll get into some dictionary definitions tomorrow! Resolve to have a great day!

Hugs and smiles

Great post! It always amaze me how people can take time to write them. But to be honest maybe you should change the color of the texts? Sorry if I am being rude, just trying to help. Kind regards, Sophia

  2. What color would you like to see? 🙂
