A Shopping Spree Awaits you and me! From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power-November’s WOW

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power and thanks so much for joining me today. It feels like just a few days ago that we were discussing October’s WOW (Words of Wisdom/Weapons of Warfare) and here it is November already! That was the fastest October ever! I’m still looking for some of the days that flew by in a blur! Whew, grab your coffee and come on in.:)

I don’t know about you, but I just love new outfits, especially when they are complete with accessories, and cute shoes, too. Oh and don’t forget, the bag/purse has to match, right? NOT! I just can’t keep up with all that and to even try would have me in a tailspin. I mean, don’t get me wrong; I like clothes as much as the next girl and shoes, too. That much detail, I do pay attention to. 🙂

I’m fairly new at the costume jewelry thing, thanks to a sweet Cookie Lee rep that God has put in my life. I’ve learned that accessorizing with that stuff can be fun and necklaces, earrings and bracelets really do finish off an outfit like a beautiful bow on a package.

And as far as the purse to match, well, let me tell on myself: I have a brown Dolce & Gabbana knock-off that’s way cute and a black Guess bag that is also pretty darned cute and so I keep them both in the car and depending on what I’m wearing, I’ll try and switch them out. But that’s as far as it goes for me. 🙂 🙂

I’ve had to come to grips with the truth of the matter: and that is that if people are going to listen to the message, they’ve got to like what they see in the messenger, so I’ve had to invest a bit more time and money into my wardrobe as well as the way I accessorize. It’s crazy because when I was working full time in the courtroom, I used to pride myself at not wearing the same thing for at least 30 days! That’s how much I loved to shop for clothes!

Now, most girls/women I know absolutely love to shop, whether for house stuff, or clothes, and they can spend hours doing this. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m older, or my priorities have changed, or a combination of both, but shopping is my least favorite thing to do now. I’d rather ask someone to put together some outfits, let me come try them on, pick what I want to purchase and be done with it. Seriously, having a good personal shopper is such a time saver and can also save you money because you avoid getting sucked into the shopping frenzy and temptation to buy unnecessarily just for the sport of spending.

I remember when shopping was definitely a hobby and a sport, a thing to do when I was happy, definitely something to do when I was sad, but I don’t have those voids anymore and I think I’ve simplified that part of my life, or He’s simplified it! 🙂

The crazy thing is, I am being blessed with more and more speaking engagements, and suddenly I am finding myself in need of some new clothes, not just any old clothes, but special clothes, clothes that will speak of the Humble one who I am speaking about, clothes that will represent who I’m out there to represent. I find myself in need of a shopping spree, but I can’t go to just any store; I have to go someplace different for these outfits must stand up in lots of travel to many places, in many situations and under all kinds of circumstances. They must be gentle in appearance, and not loud. They must be able to withstand the fiery darts of persecution that are sure to come my way out in His field; they also must be stain resistant and strong and sturdy to withstand persecution and false accusations as well as misconceptions. Yeah, these have got to be some very well-made clothes.

Where can a girl find such clothing? Join me tomorrow for a time of shopping!

Joyfully,

Evinda
