Bondage Maker or Bondage Breaker? Monthly WOW from Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Coffee Hour!

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power! It’s that time again, time for our monthly WOW, so grab your coffee and come on in.

If you haven’t been with us before for a WOW, let me first explain that WOW stands for two different things: Weapons of warfare and/or words of wisdom and the only place we get these is from the Word of God. I don’t know about you and your world, but tragedies are coming around us faster than I’ve ever experienced before, and I’m so thankful that there is this source that we can look to that will always splash perspective, answer questions, give us direction, ease the pain, and offer comfort. I don’t know how people live without Him and the hope that He brings to any situation. 🙂

When I share with you, whether it be the monthly WOW or any other blog, I write from my heart and my life’s experiences guided by His Spirit. At this moment, I have to tell you, my heart is overwhelmed with what I saw just this past Saturday at our Spring Cleaning from the Inside Out workshop, which dealt with cleaning the rooms of the heart using forgiveness as the main cleanser. I am still on a sort of euphoric hangover! 🙂 🙂 🙂

The flood of people who came forward to make a public commitment to forgive someone who had offended them overwhelmed me in a way I’ve never experienced before until then. The raw emotion, the tears in their eyes, the determination on their faces drove home the truth that we need to have this degreaser, this grime remover, this multipurpose cleaner called forgiveness on hand, ready and waiting to be used.

The more I keep this multipurpose on hand and use it, the more I come to understand its power, not just in my life but in the lives of those whom I forgive. The crazy thing is that it begins by bearing one another’s burdens! Doesn’t that sound like the opposite of the need for forgiveness?

Well, let me give you the WOW, and then I’ll do my best to explain this profound process. Our Words of Wisdom come from Galatians Chapter 6, Verse 2: Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

We are all people in need of forgiveness, any day and every day! That hasn’t changed since the beginning of time. In fact, the very first time we see “forgiveness” in the Bible is in Genesis, the first book! And here’s another interesting fact: The verb forgive is in the Old Testament 654 times!

Why in the world is it in there so many times? Could it be that this is one of the biggest WOWs – weapons of warfare – that we could pick up and use in our journey toward abundant living? Is it in there so many times because He knew and knows how hard it really is to give forgiveness? One thing’s for sure: He said it 654 times in the Old Testament alone, so it IS definitely near and dear to His heart! I think He reminds us so many times that because we have gotten forgiveness, we can forgive. It begins by bearing one another’s burdens! I know that may sound crazy, but it’s true!

Join me tomorrow for the conclusion to our WOW! In the meantime, tune in with us at www.blogtalkradio.com/chicklit-power for our show on codependency, what it is and what it isn’t!

Your WOW today was “wow-er-ful”. Ha I have been reading the booklet that was in the handout folder from Saturdays’ triumphant Event. That, plus the words spoken Saturday, certainly shines a light of wisdom and focus on FORGIVENESS. I am working my life towards the goal of using this POWERFUL tool for myself and others. Freedom to forgive is freeing! Thank you 🙂 Nanny
