Cabo Highlights-3 From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power and thanks for coming back to my Cabo Highlights Journal. Grab your coffee and come on in. It’s time for the book signing.

Hours before, I was literally sick to my stomach, asking myself over and over again, “What if no one shows up?” and responding back to myself, “It’s His gig.” I played that mind game over and over until I was actually sitting in the chair, my husband there with me, our books spread out, the sign standing tall and cute.

The scheduled time was 1:00 to 4:00, and at 1:05, or thereabouts, there were three people lining up, including our timeshare rep who wanted to be the first customer, he said, but was actually the third. It was an amazing experience, and throughout the afternoon, I met a lot of people from back East — North Dakota, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Minneapolis, New York — wonderful people loving the warm weather, their escape from snow, cold weather and flooding their common denominator. I’m a bit directionally challenged, and I just love His sense of humor, how and what’ He’s doing and using to get me a little less challenged so I might engage in meaningful conversations with His kids from all over the world.

As each person came and sat, I invited them to look at the book, explaining the genesis of it, and about the first one still being reviewed by a perspective agent in New York. It was so relaxing, sitting and visiting with people, listening to some of their own stories. The common theme in every woman I met was a desire to be encouraged.

Debbie was the second one there, and she bought two books and said she was going to go out by the pool area and start talking to others. I know I’ve found a new friend in her, for sure!

Debbie from Fargo, North Dakota

Another woman, a real estate agent from back East, bought one for a friend, and an hour later, she came running back saying, “I’ve been reading this and I’ve got to get one for my daughter-in-law, too.” 🙂 Now that was validating!

Pat, the sweet lady I met out in front of our resort the first day sat and read a couple pages as I signed her copy and when I looked up, she had tears in her eyes and said she couldn‘t wait to read more.

LaRey, a beautiful lady who just had a knee replacement said Cabo was her spiritual place, especially since her husband passed three years ago. She could hardly wait to start reading it. There were three employees of Playa Grande that purchased the book as well, and one of them openly admitted she wanted to read it to understand English better because Spanish was her native language. She’ll definitely get a lot of good English words and lessons in this book. 🙂

Yes, the book signing was a major confirmation that we are on a mission to encourage women’s hearts, one heart at a time, one cup at a time.

Please come back tomorrow for a couple more highlights and pics.

Joyfully,

Evinda
