Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power…

So glad you have taken time out of your busy schedule to join me on Faith Filled Friday. Grab your favorite beverage, journal and most important, God’s Word as we take a journey together.

I LOVE impetuous trips…. I LOVE going out of town for just a weekend….I LOVE… did I say I LOVE getting on our motorcycle and heading anywhere….but sometimes I do love things mapped out just so I know where I’m heading, looking forward to my destination. How about you?

When our children were living at home, we loved going on vacations together, and taking a trip sometimes required us to do some investigating, in most cases that is. We’d share our plans with the family and the places we wanted to go.  There’s excitement in the air and everyone begins their own preparations, where their first stops are going to be, what they want to eat, and to sneak in some shopping, but of course. However, in order to get to our destination, we had to begin mapping out our destination and searching the best way to get there. And soon everyone’s got their own idea, their own agendas and all you said was…“I’m planning a vacation.”

When everyone’s not on the same page, it can be a bit frustrating. You want to accommodate everyone the best you can, but you can see that if you considered everyone’s advice, you’d never get out of town. 🙂 We have on occasion taken a journey and have navigated way off course just to accommodate the likes of the others and found ourselves lost.

It can be frustrating and emotionally draining, especially when you’re counting the hours to get to that destination and you know the decision that was made was not made corporately; in other words, not all involved were in agreement and the disappointment on their faces told it all. Of course as parents you feel responsible because of the promise you made and it wasn’t fulfilled, so you ask for forgiveness and you move on.  Their measure of hope and faith is restored when we finally arrive at the place that was promised. Oh, the joy that flooded their souls truly made up for all the diversions that happened prior to the arrival of our destination.

Sometimes it can seem that way in our own walk as believers where we have taken roads of diversions. It’s those “could-a, would-a, should-a’s” that have at times left some regrets for not making the right decisions, especially when we end up in a place further from our destination than what was planned.

God has given us, so to speak, a Navigator to live by: His Word. When we venture out in the plan that our Heavenly Father has mapped out for us, we can be assured that there will be no diversions on His part and no second-guessing. And as we seek Him for our destination or plan, there will be no wanting of our own agenda.  Let us stay the course that has been mapped out and know that our joy will be fulfilled and complete when we arrive at our soon-to-be-destination.

Proverbs 16:9 tells us: “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”

Moreover, His promises are ALWAYS yes and in Him amen.  2 Corinthians 1:20 ….

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

Thanks for stopping by today’s Faith Filled Friday! Until next week …

Much love,

It is a great thing to have the written Word of God to teach, lead, and protect us from our falls and faults. Jesus gave it all so that we have a promise that we are going to be alright !
