Welcome to another Faith-Filled Friday! Grab your coffee and come on in.

We will get to the Hall of Faith, the chapters in the Bible that started this whole series for us, but I want to remain for our time today on the mustard seed and its significance.

I was sharing with my women’s Bible study group about the beauty of the analogy that Christ Himself used with the mustard seed, which, by the way, wasn’t a gardening fact or comparison, but rather a spiritual symbolism. But I have just discovered that He had even more in mind when He spoke these words to His disciples.

See, in Matthew 13: 31, here’s what He says about the mustard seed: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, website mission statement cloud 200xwhich a man took and sowed in his field; and this is smaller than all other seeds; but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

Here again, we see Jesus drawing attention to the comparison of the “smallest” to the “largest” and using it to illustrate how the Kingdom of heaven will expand in the world from a very small beginning to a huge presence.

Now let’s personalize this and talk about our worlds. When we accept that seed of faith into our heart, how is it growing in our worlds, aka, in our homes with our spouses, our children? How is our faith blooming with our family and friends?

Faith when exercised grows from a seed planted to a tree in bloom. Is your faith alive? Who do you know that needs to rest under your mustard seed tree of faith?

Have a faith-filled weekend!
