Fears are like… From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power and thanks so much for joining me. If this is your first time, you really should check out the prior blogs in this true story so you don’t feel like you’re jumping in the middle of the ocean, which is where I’m at currently in the story! Grab your coffee and come on in.

For those who have been with me the whole time, allow me to interrupt this story for a very important update, especially since it has a lot to do with fear! 🙂 It seems a bit crazy to me that as I’m writing about a tumultuous moment in my life, I am embarking upon another one. See, I’ve received this assignment to go to Liberty University in Virginia and speak to some of the women there.

Well, to get there, we’ll be flying. Flying is so not my favorite thing to do. In fact, in the first couple years of our marriage, I can remember getting so sick with anxiety and fear and on one flight, they almost turned the plane around mid-flight. I begged them not to and hunkered down and prayed. The airline stewardesses kept coming and checking on me and when the flight was over, there was a wheelchair waiting for me. Talk about humility! 🙂

I’m happy to report that that didn’t happen this time and here’s the real victory: we didn’t have the luxury of a nonstop flight; nope, we had to get on THREE planes to get here and then after that, pick up our car rental and drive three and a half hours, from North Carolina, to Lynchburg, Virginia.

At one point, Kim, the one He appointed to come with me who has an amazing love for adventure, took a picture of me inhaling and exhaling rapidly as we were beginning our final descent into North Carolina. Her laughter was contagious and I joined her in it as we landed for the final time – well, the final time until we have to come home and do it all over again. I so wanted to post the picture in here but still trying to figure out how to do that from this computer. I only know how to do it from my PC at home, not the laptop on the road! 🙂 🙂

Oh, how blessed I am that He helps me work through the fears so I can overcome them. Now there’s just the fear of talking with these scholars, soon to be doctors in law! 🙂 Really?

Have a fearless day,

Evinda
