Five Ways to Succeed in Life & Love-From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

I’m so glad you could join me today for a little coffee break. I hope your Resurrection weekend was refreshing and reviving for you and those you love. We’re going to return to this series and hopefully, after a few more coffee breaks, we should complete it. Grab your coffee and come on in. We are on step 4. 🙂

I realize we took a little break from this series, so let me just recap the steps. 1: Resolve, which means to partner with the Holy Spirit, and the process begins for you to accomplish His best for you in life and love. 2: Commit-to watch over with intensity—remember, so as to protect, not control; also, to practice. I love that definition which illuminates the grace! 3: Pray-things just go better with prayer, all things. And remember the acronym? P’s for praise, R for repent, A is for ask and Y is for yield.

I love the instruction in Phil 4:6: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication (earnest request), with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God! Sounds like a tall order, huh? Hey, practice (committing) makes it easier. 🙂

So, by resolving to commit, I come to realize I’m going to need help, so I pray! See, each step leads us to the next. Resolve to commit; commit to pray; pray to . . .

Adjust.

The Merriam Webster’s dictionary defines adjust as follows: align, correct, conform oneself to new or different conditions. Hmmm, let’s chew on that for a bit! 🙂

The Greek word for adjust is actually conform, and OMG, the Greek translation for that word gives me goose-bumps. It’s “summorpho.” Do you see the word root in there? It’s morph! This denotes a process and is only possibly by and through the work of the Spirit who helps us to adjust/conform from the inside out!

Do you see the connection? Step 4 especially requires step 1-partnering with the Holy Spirit. I get so excited when I get another knot to tie in my string of faith; it just makes my heart happy knowing I’m not about to get all unraveled in this lifetime. Oh, my string of faith gets pulled on, trust me, but the more I partner with His Spirit, the more committed I become and the more committed I am, the more I communicate with Him with praising, repenting, asking, and yielding.

Please, come back tomorrow and we’ll talk a bit more about this fourth step, adjust.
