He’s a Housekeeper, Too? (Master Bedroom cleaning) From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power and thanks for coming by and joining me for the conclusion of the cleaning of the master bedroom. Grab your coffee and come on in.

I reached for my coffee and took a long drink, thinking about His last statement: “If more leaders within the churches would seek My counsel on how to approach these situations instead of drawing a line without grace, we would win more of them over for My kingdom.”

I put my coffee cup down and leaned over towards Him by placing my elbows just above my knees. I was thinking about how to rephrase His statement to make sure I understood, because it was sounding kind of crazy to me. “So you’re saying that we need to show forgiveness and not dish out shame with people in the church fall and fail in this area?”

“Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying.”

Pictures of faces flitted across my mind, pictures of parents and their teenagers who had fallen for the deception of the need for being accepted sexually and before I processed what I was thinking, I blurted out my thoughts: “But what about all these teenagers who are getting pregnant; isn’t that giving a mixed message?”

“My church needs to let Me worry about the how and the why and the consequences. Your job is to remain Christ-like and I’ll take care of the rest.”

He looked into my eyes and saw the questions. “You are questioning my teaching on sex, aren’t you?”

I couldn’t deny it. “Is that word even in the Bible?”

Jesus chuckled at my obvious frustration and consternation. Actually, going back to the scriptures that were inspired on this subject, I speak of adultery, and that can be used interchangeable, even though there are several types of adultery.”

“What do you mean several types of adultery?”

“That’s for another day. Where I address this type of adultery specifically is with the law-makers and the law-breakers of the New Testament who were trying to trick me with their questions about marriage and divorce. But even long before that, I speak about the purpose of sex and marriage.”

“So where in Your Word does it speak about all that?”

“Oh, Daughter, the blueprint for marriage and sex began with the creation of Adam and Eve.”

I marveled at the joy upon His face as He spoke of Adam and Eve. He looked rather pleased with Himself.

He shook His head and returned to the present. “I can see that the world is becoming more and more of a distraction from My will in this area; that many feel that I may be asking something unnatural, if not impossible, especially in this world.”

“Well, seriously, Lord, considering the way things are in this world today, it does seem impossible. I mean, I’m so glad that I’m not single anymore.” I sat back and reached for my coffee again. “And then again, I do remember totally leaning on You in that struggle with my husband before we were married.”

“And because you did come to Me, what happened?” The smile on His face revealed His memory of our premarital outcome.

“We had victory.”

“Victory, that’s what I wish for My kids.”

“But how does one share with another about this? I mean, I feel tongue-tied sometimes, especially with this friend that I just had this dream about. What do I say to her?”

“Listen carefully to what I am saying. I do forbid adultery and premarital sex not because sex is a bad thing, but because it is a good thing. Long ago, I said ‘A man shall leave his father and the mother and cleave to his wife, and they shall be one flesh.’ It is so much more than the physical ecstasy; it is a means of bonding two lives in deepening love.”

Understanding illuminated the eyes of my heart as I listened.

“This gift has the creative power to bring human life into being.”

I thought back to the conception and the birth of my son, moments too beautiful to describe.

He continued. “Sex is powerful and used properly, which is in the covenant of marriage, it has tremendous potential for good.” He shook His head and sadness masked His face. “Used improperly, for the wrong reasons, and used to satisfy the flesh only, it can actually destroy the good. It is for this reason that My Father and I intended it to be expressed only within the commitment of a loving life partnership, because there is so much more to love than just sex.”

“I’m afraid many of us have confused the two.”

He nodded His head in agreement. “The covenant of marriage is so much deeper than the feeling of love. But again, that is for another day. Let me give you some words to share with your friend who you had this dream about.”

I sat forward again, all ears, eager to hear what He had to say, but really wanting to ask the unasked question, So was it really a dream.

“I desire to speak through you because of all that you have been through in this area, thus fulfilling My Word in you, that you will comfort others with the comfort you’ve been given.”

I was humbled and speechless.

“As far as if that was a dream or not, you will soon learn the truth of that. In the meantime, when she, or any of your other friends for that matter, comes to you to share about their struggles in this area, tell them this: ‘If or when you fail and feel shame and guilt, know that I still love you and will remain with you, as long as you ask me to. Talk with me about it! Acknowledge the wrong and take steps to avoid it happening again. Rely on my strength ot keep you from falling again and to lead you into a relationship of love in marriage where two truly become one in Me.”

Now that’s a clean master bedroom! Thanks for joining me.

Have a beautiful day,
