Thanks for coming back for more of Nana Holds, a series that is revealing so many questions, emotions, ups and downs and yet, though the answers are often slow to come, their beautiful light experienced in the journey makes it easier to keep going. Grab your coffee and come on in.

So those questions that began to stir in my heart about this point in the story were colliding with the first agreed-upon visit with his grandparents on his mother’s side since our appointment of guardianship.

Every time it gets close to having to deal with them, that is bio mom and her parents, my stomach tenses up with knots and my mind scatters to all things negative about them and all I can think about is the aftermath of their visit with Bryden. Soon, before I know it, I am in a tailspin and looking for my broom! Try as I might, I can’t find anything positive to say about these people; consequently, more often than not, I begin to fly around and around and then suddenly, I am reminded of one positive thing and I come crashing down off my broom, determined to get through this with more grace and aplomb as I realize a couple of things: They truly do love him. But even more importantly, God loves Bryden more than all of us and He will be his protector.

I feel a little detour but it really fits right about here! As I write this, I just realized I need to add two more people on my 2012-12-30_14-58-09_898“unlovable” list. For those of you who have been having coffee with me for some time, you remember that series; don’t you? How to love the unlovable/difficult people in our lives! Whew, I think it’s time for a review! Bio mom has been on there since the inception of that series, but now conviction stirs and I remember what I have learned and shared with others.

Oh there is beauty in conviction when we allow it to move us toward righting the wrong, seeking help in correcting that which is incorrect. Yes, two wrongs don’t make a right, but thank you for allowing me to share my struggle as it relates to this soap box I jumped on a few days ago about grandparents spoiling the child and sending them home for the “parent(s)” to deal with. It’s going to be interesting to share His transformation in me as it relates to communicating with these people on a different level of understanding because of all I’m learning in this season.

Join me tomorrow for more . . .
