Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power…

It’s that time again, time for Coffee Hour and more of Nana Holds. Grab your coffee and let’s get back to that last thought-provoking question to reveal another symptom of rigidity in the relationship infection.

For every moral issue, there is an absolute answer; however, getting to that answer is, in my opinion, almost as important as the answer. Years ago, before I began this writing journey, I was attending junior college to determine what I wanted to be when I grew up! LOL! I was medically retired from court reporting in the courtroom and yet, I knew He created me to do other things as well. It was during this college experience that I began to “loosen up” from my rigid thinking on how others view moral issues.

Do you notice the difference? I didn’t compromise my own convictions and while I believe in the answers found in His Word to all moral issues, both at the workshop and now, I am consistently conscientious when it comes to coming across critical when voicing my opinion on moral issues. Did Jesus stand at the gates and yell “Turn or burn”? Didn’t He minister to the prostitute and dine with the money-hungry? And all the while, He never compromised His morality.

What is the difference between black and white? No, it’s not gray; it’s grace. Let me give you one more thought to help with this symptom. I learned this while leading a women’s study, “A Woman’s Heart, God’s Own Dwelling Place” by Beth Moore. The word “truth” in Hebrew means: “an unveiled reality.” What is that truth speaking to you? Could it be that what has become unveiled for you hasn’t become a reality to another? Let’s stay here for just a few moments.

I’m going to dare tackle a very confrontational issue: Homosexuality. Could it be that the unveiled reality for many Christians of there being no “gay” DNA hasn’t become a reality to most homosexuals because God isn’t real for or to them? I know what the Word of God says about this difficult issue; and while I don’t agree with the lifestyle, I can continue to pray that the unveiled reality of God’s love that has helped me unveil many more truths would become their truth too.

We could spend hours on moral issues but nothing changes the truth that we are, as much as possible with us, to live peaceably with others and let Him be God to the immoral.

Let’s end our time by pondering how truths have been unveiled for us in our personal journeys.

In His love and grace,

Evinda
