November’s WOW – From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power and thanks so much for coming by. For those of you returning, I know I said I was going to have more “Wedding Highlights” today, but I completely forgot about it being the first of the month. For those of you who are joining us for the first time, welcome to our WOW (Words of Wisdom) series which we do every first of the month. And then at least once we try and come back and see how we’ve applied these words of wisdom, aka, weapons of warfare, into situations and circumstances that arise in our life. So, grab your coffee and come on in.

This month’s WOW has some special meaning for me. A few weeks back, when we got that real nice “No thank you” note from a perspective agent, I have to admit that I truly was questioning God and His plan for our first book. I mean to describe all the twists and turns of this journey alone would be another book. But I was having my quiet time — and some crying time – and the devotion I read pierced my heart. He was speaking right at me, reminding me that faith is not something that is seen and that when I get weary, that’s when my reliance on Him has to be even more pronounced.

Yesterday, after church, my husband and I took care of a couple of errands, had some lunch and then came home. He was wiped out, literally, from a very hard and intense week. So was I, to be honest. And as soon as we turned the corner of our street to come home, my mind began racing with details that still need to be taken care of for next week’s workshop. In fact, my mind was racing so fast, that had I been on a track in a car fueled by thoughts of things I need to get done, I know I would have beat any world champion racecar/Nascar driver out there!

Well, I did only two things and then I came upstairs to be still for a few so I wouldn’t jump on that racetrack of anxiety, trying to accomplish all that my mind was processing. Now, I know that times of just doing nothing are very important, and believe it or not, I can and have done that. My friends and husband are of the mindset that I don’t do it enough and they’re probably right. Yet, there are times when you have a big event coming up and there’s a lot of planning, providing and protecting and praying that goes along with these kinds of things, so that is where this month’s WOW comes in real handy for the heart and mind. May we chew on it and chew on it until it is so easy to digest as truth into the core of our being, that our heart and soul do not grow weary!

Galatians 6:9 And let us (you and me) not grow weary while                        doing good, for in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart!

That’s a promise for us and the cool thing about His promises is they don’t bounce like a bad check! One more thing for those of you out there in any type of leading/teaching ministry, we do not work FOR the Lord, but we do work WITH the Lord!

P.S. Don’t forget Blog Talk Radio today at 1:00 Pacific time, and I’ll finish up with Wedding Highlights tomorrow and Wednesday, which means our “Tuesday Morning” series will pick back up the following Tuesday!

One of my favorite verses. Times are such, that so many of us need to depend on His promises moment by moment. I kind of like to think that we do both of the above, work with and work for, the Lord. Cuz sometimes, the things He has me do, are not always the things my flesh wants to do, so I kind of look at the things I don’t want to do, as, it’s my job for Him. And the paycheck and benefits I get from Him, are certainly alot more rewarding than the piece of paper I get weekly. Just my thoughts. As always, thank you for yours. I love the November WOW Words of Wisdom. Love You. 🙂
