Genesis 50:20: But as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for Good …EL pen Logo with heart

Have you ever heard of anything good coming out of confusion? What if I told you that God doesn’t allow even confusion to be wasted? Grab your coffee and come on in for our coffee hour and let me share why in this miniseries and hopefully clear up the muddy waters of confusion! 🙂

With the holidays upon us … albeit it thrown at us much too early with all the stores vying for the earliest Black Friday, REALLY? Our minds and hearts are being tugged on from so many different directions that I can’t help but giggle as I imagine what our Heavenly Father, our God of order, sees as He looks upon us, running here and there, doing this and that, starting this while trying to finish that. Ugh, it makes my heart race just to think about it and yet … I rejoice at the knowledge for it is with understanding that we have the power to change, to clear up this weapon of confusion and be victorious, one situation, one project, one idea at a time.

While doing a final edit on a curriculum He wrote through me, and preparing for our final Transform Trench class – just one week away – I felt a nudge, ever so slight at first and then it happened again … and again, each nudge growing in intensity. In my own busyness which can definitely aid in the weapon of confusion, I must admit it took me a few more nudges before I finally paid attention to it going on within me.

So for the sake of being obedient to the One who clarifies my confusion, our next couple of coffee hours will be spent on the topic of confusion with the prayer that these nuggets He gave me will forever shine in your heart and mind, exposing the tiniest bit of confusion, casting light upon it and clarifying its source so you may be free from it.

We’ll start with some facts and a couple of definitions for this weapon that the devil has used since the beginning of time:

Did you know there are more than 69 conditions involving “confusion?” Whew, no wonder the devil has a field day with this weapon!  Also, the Word of God uses “confusion” and “confounded” interchangeably more than 240 times! Since confuse and confound are used interchangeably, we will do some exploring in both.

In my research on this topic, I discovered that there is a special recipe for confusion and let me tell you, there are several ingredients! I don’t know about you, but when I’m looking for a meal to cook – I’m usually looking in the 30-minute or less section of recipes! – if I see more than a few ingredients, I turn the page, intimidated by the recipe because of too many ingredients required. Well, let me tell you, this recipe is crazy potent!

One of the first instances of confusion, or a form of being confounded translates to “chathath” and means: “to prostrate, hence to break down, either by violence or (figuratively) by confusion and fear”! “’Chathath’ means to be dismayed, shattered, broken, terrified.” So this definition tells us that confounded/confused is accompanied by what else? FEAR, a false expectation appearing real! Keep that in mind as we continue to explore this recipe for confusion.

Until our next coffee hour
