So glad you could stop by today for part 3 of our WOW-Weapons of Warfare and Words of Wisdom! Grab your coffee and come on in.

So I have an answer about that italics thing in verse 11! The reason it is in italics is because of the version I’m using, which is the New King James Version. In the King James Version, that phrase reads: “shall not be ashamed.” Hmm, so now I need to look up “ashamed,” which I just discovered is in the Word 122 times!

As I skim down to see if there’s a Romans 10-11 reference . . . Yes, there is! And it means to confound or disgrace, and it has the root “shun” in there! I just had a thought: one who walks with shame is not only shunned by others, but shuns others, hiding behind their shame. Oh, the enemy uses this in so many ways, weaving many other emotional harmful effects all stemming from lies! Okay, now I can move us on.

Verse 12: “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek” – STOP! I’m not trying to add words into the Word but I think you could actually put the words “you and me” in there to get the context of our WOW. In fact, would you please do that just for our time together? In other words, it would read, “For there is no distinction between you and me . . .” Does it take on a different meaning for you at all?

Okay, let’s keep going. “…between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

This so leads us to a very sensitive subject and as I go there, I ask you to please, please, please hear me with your heart and not your intellectual mind: When we get there and we have our appointment with Him, He’s not going to ask: “So what denomination were you?” See, He knows your heart and He’s made it very clear in His love letters to us what is required to even get that appointment. John 3:15 says “that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life,” aka, that appointment with Him. That’s the Gospel according to Christ.

How about replacing those words “Jew” and “Greek” for denominations, for example, there is no distinction between Baptist and Presbyterian, or Catholic and Lutheran. See, I believe with all my heart that God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit do not enjoy their kids — that’s you and me — arguing over scripture and/or the appearance of things within that denomination that don’t line up to our interpretation of His Instructions to us within His Word. We have got to quit  pointing out who is right or wrong, according to us and remember He knows the heart of every one of us who have called upon Him, confessing Him as Lord and Savior!

Join me Monday for the conclusion to our WOW!
