Think Like A Sheep-From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Coffee Hour!

Thanks so much for stopping by to join me for a little break today. Grab your coffee and come on in. We are turning the final corner in this powerful series, Think like a Sheep.

Before we get to the final part of the final verse, let me ask you a question: If you are a Christian, what does that mean to you? Is it about attending a specific “Christian” church, believing a set of “Christian” facts about God and Jesus Christ? Or is it about your relationship with the Christ?

This psalm that we’ve been grazing through for the last several weeks is totally a testament of a most beautiful relationship between Christ and a child, between a Shepherd and His sheep, between a man and his God. This psalm could also be a declaration that declares that if God is your Shepherd, then you will not lack for anything, that you will be refreshed, rested, restored, guided, provided for, protected and sheltered. What more could we ask for in a relationship?

In addition to being a testimony of all of these things for the life experienced by David, it is also a trumpet that sounds the beautiful music of hope and confidence for the future, displayed in the notes of this beautiful relationship.

When we read his final words, “And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever,” many think of heaven; however, I think of walking with Him now, and dwelling with Him in forever. See, in actuality, when David penned these final words of this psalm, he wasn’t thinking of where he would be but with whom he would be!

In other words, we don’t have to wait for heaven to be with our Shepherd. We can experience a little sliver of heaven any and every time we dare to be still and sit in His presence. That is what will sustain us in the waiting!

We who are His sheep can be assured that after leading us through green pastures, the valleys of darkness and the shadows of death, He will most assuredly take us to dwell with Him forever for the gate we must go through is wide enough for two: you and your Shepherd! He will lead you home.

Wow, what a powerful series. I’m going to pray for another one to share with you. It’s hard to believe that we got all of that from just six verses! He has so much to share with us. Take some time to graze in the pasture of His word.

Join me tomorrow for another coffee break and a new series, Nana Holds.

Humbled and amazed,

I enjoyed this series of blogs so very much. It is so terrific that all this is for the NOW. When we are with our Abba God forever, we will be in the very place that the Shepherd intended for us for eternity. Shouldn’t be needing a shepherd then when we are in our perfect place resting in His presence always. AAAAHHHHHH
