Tuesday Mornings, Proposition 8-From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power, and welcome back to our “Tuesday Mornings, Proposition 8” series. For those of you joining us for the first time, be sure and check out the previous blogs. We’re winding down in this series, but we’ve spent three-plus months on it, so there’s a lot to read about it.

Last week we left off discussing the term generational and all of the different illnesses and cycles that can be traced back in time to generations past, not that homosexuality was something that generations before us talked so openly about as our society does today, but this too is often found to be generational.

I have personal experience and proof regarding this. My sister lives a lesbian lifestyle and has for 20-plus years. One of the things she longs for the most is acceptance, and she’s willing to do just about anything for it. She got the brunt of the physical, emotional and sexual abuse that all five of us endured, and I can understand why her opinion of men is distorted, why she is confused and still so wounded. I’ve never held her lifestyle against her and I’ve always loved her and tried to communicate that love to her. She would disagree with that, but that’s because she knows that I don’t agree with her lifestyle.

Well, not too long ago, I discovered that my biological mom had dabbled in homosexuality as well. Is it any wonder that I waded in that pool for a little bit more than six months? I’m so glad that He pulled me out when He did, because I truly understand that the deeper you go into this lifestyle, the harder it is to surface. That whole season is an entire novel within itself, but suffice it to say that I do understand why people make this choice.

This subject is very near and dear to my heart. I believe with all my heart what the Word of God says regarding this lifestyle. I also believe that it’s a matter of the heart, and we are not the judges. Only God has the bird’s eye view into a person’s heart, homosexual and/or heterosexual, and it is He who will open or shut the door eternally.

What we as professing Christians can do and should do is pray that the eyes of their hearts would be enlightened in order that they may know the hope to which He has called them, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints and His incomparably great power for us who believe. For then there will be no more emotional confusion and their need to be loved and accepted will truly be met.

I just got an em last night from a ministry that just came out with a series called “Homosexuality, its cause and its cure,” and I think I’d like to listen to that series before we go any further in our series. Thanks so much for hanging with me through our “Tuesday Mornings, Proposition 8” series, and beginning next week, we will be doing a “Relevant Song” series, which should be fun and thought-provoking. We will also be beginning a new series at the end of this week or the beginning of next called “Keeping it Real Through the Holidays,” so please keep coming back for Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power.

Reach out and make it a great day . . .

After reading this this morning I took out my Bible and started reading. There are so many scriptures telling us that homosexuality is against His will.in Leviticus chapter 18 it days to not lie with a man the way you would with a woman for such a thing is an abomination. But then we came back to love the person hate the sin… Such controversy.. But in the end God loves alllllll of us, it’s just up to us to turn away from sin and turn to him which sometimes can be the hardest thing…
