What’s a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy? From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power and thanks for stopping by for some chit-chat and coffee on your break. I am about to share some of my most recent self-fulfilling prophecies that I have become aware of and am now asking for His grace to undo! Grab your coffee and come on in. 🙂

I’m going to give you a bit of framework so you can better understand and possible relate to how I got sucked into this prophecy without even being cognizant of it for 18 months!

Two years ago, I completed my first novel and because of that novel, we began a web site. After the web site was up and running, our web designers advised me that I should blog – which I didn’t even know what a blog was – and so I began to blog five days a week. The blog turned into “Coffee Hour with Chicklit Power,” and some incredible series have come from the blog.

From one of the series came requests for a workshop to teach others how to Love the Unlovable People (in their life). From that workshop, Chicklit Power Ministries was born; we started as a dba. After that, a sweet supporter financed the publishing of our first “Cup” series which was from the first year of blogs and only took three months to turn into a book! Thereafter, there were book signings, speaking engagements, oh, and my personal life, too as well as my part-time job of court reporting.

Almost eight months ago, we became a corporation in the process of attaining its nonprofit status. In between all of this I’ve been working with our new publisher for the first book getting it corrected and perfected for publication in April! And then there’s the Destination? Joyful! ™ events that we sponsor every three and a half months or so. Oh, and I forgot about Blog Talk Radio every Monday with Steve, which has been amazing as well.

But honestly, all this time, I’ve been telling myself I just wanted to write a book. I really didn’t have any of these plans in mind. Don’t get me wrong; I wouldn’t change it for a New York minute, truly. I just had no idea that there would be so many things coming at me with such amazing speed. I have prayed every step of the way and I know if I’m in error, I’ve erred on the side of faith and I’ll be okay. 🙂

Just as I’m delusional enough to think I’m getting the hang of it all, our Father threw a huge bolder right in my path that made me want to throw my hands up, lose my balance and throw in the towel, that is until He revealed to me about how I was responding to His plans and purposes in the form of a self-fulfilling prophecy!

Join me on Monday for the conclusion, I think! 🙂 I don’t think I’ll declare that a prophecy! 🙂
