You’re Invited to: Understanding and Overcoming Depression-From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power and welcome to this discussion that we’ve started to have every Friday to prepare us for our next Destination? Joyful! ™ event to be held on Saturday, November 5th. We are trying to understand depression because in order to overcome something, we need to understand it. So grab your coffee and come on in. I have a confession to make. 🙂

I made a huge error last week in the use of the word for situational depression, aka, depression caused by external circumstances and situations. I used exogenous and the correct word is exdogenous! The definitions were correct but the word was not! Sorry. That’s why we have the gift of Steve, our licensed psychologist! 🙂 He is even more than that; he’s got a seminary degree!

Okay. So now that I’ve cleared that from my conscience and we have the correct words, let’s move forward in this understanding depression discussion. We’re going to talk about feelings, and I am of the mind and opinion that feelings can lead us right into depression. Is it endogenuous or exdogenous depression? Heck, I’m not sure, but that’s why we need to be there November 5th so Steve can explain it to us.

Here is one absolutely freeing statement I’ll give you about feelings – well, actually, grammatically speaking, it’s three statements! – My feelings are me; your feelings are you. Our feelings are not right or wrong; they just are. Our feelings are NOT negotiable!

Hmmm, that last statement is interesting. Chew on that for a bit, and ponder this invitation! 🙂

An impressive share, I have just given this to a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast because I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thanks for the treat! But yeah Thanks for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If possible, as you become expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more details? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!
