The Bachelor-The Final Rose!

Wow, what a shock, huh! I don’t have a problem admitting I was wrong, a bit off base about who Jake would choose, but I’m still in a state of “what just happened” after watching “The Final Rose.” But even more shocking is a revelation that I received from watching him and listening to him as he explained to Tenley why she wasn’t the one as genuine tears ran down his face.

The shocking and disappointing truth is that he too has been deceived when it comes to true love. Now I don’t say that to put Vienna down at all. As a matter of fact, didn’t we see a different girl this night than in nights past? I think the tabloids have been unnecessarily cruel to her. Anyway, what I mean by Jake being deceived about true love is basically summed up in the fact that he based a lot of his decision on chemistry and sparks and “the feeling” of being in love. Put me on a pirate’s ship out in the middle of the beautiful ocean with someone who is everything I’ve ever wanted in a guy and, yeah, the temptation to “fall” is going to be there.

The point I’m trying to make is when he and Vienna settle down into what they both call normal, will the sparks of chemistry still be igniting, or will a different type of spark start flying enhanced by the reality of life now absent all those amazing, romantic and indulgent, hormone-raging dates?

And one more thing, Jake, if you really wanted to do this right, you certainly wouldn’t be bringing her into your home until you were ready to marry her!

Now, on a “Chicklit Power” note, please make sure you are signed up for my interest list/Chicklit drawing, because that is how you will receive updates regarding the publication journey as well as the talk show we are trying to put together. My editor has informed me that my list needs to be long and ready, so thank you in advance, and thank you so much for your comments. I am encouraged to know you are out there and it is because of you that I have created the “Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power.”
