Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power – Woman, You Are…

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power!

I received this via e-mail from a close friend of mine and decided to share it with all of you. I’ve reworded the dialogue just a little bit to make it a bit more realistic so it will resonate in your heart as it did mine. This conversation between God and an angel is a great reminder of whom and what our Creator created us women to be. I hope the words help you take low self-esteem out of your trunk and may you enjoy not only the humor of the words, but the truth in them as well…

When God created woman, He was working late and an angel stopped by and stood there watching Him. Finally he spoke and said, “Why spend so much time on that one?”

The Lord looked up somewhat startled by his question. “Have you seen all of the specifications I have to meet in order to shape her?” When the angel didn’t reply, He went on. “She must be washable, but not made of plastic. She’s to have more than 200 moving parts which all must be replaceable, and she must be able to function on all kinds of food. She must be able to embrace several children at the same time, give a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart, and she must do all of this with only two hands.”

The angel said, “Just two hands? Impossible! Is this a standard model or the super, because she seems to be too much work?”

“No, she’s not too much work; she’s just the favorite in my heart.” He beamed as he looked down at her. “She works 18 hours a day, and keeps going even when she is feeling under the weather.”

The angel came closer to see and reached out tentatively to touch her. “But she’s so soft.”

“She is, but I have also made her strong. You can’t even imagine all that she can endure and overcome.”

The angel was obviously dumbfounded. “Can she think?”

The Lord laughed. “Not only can she think, but she can reason and negotiate.”

The angel bent down and touched her cheek. “Lord, it seems that she is leaking.”

“She’s not leaking; it’s a tear,” the Lord corrected the angel.

“What’s it for?”

“Tears are her way of expressing grief, frustration and sadness. They are also a way of dealing with her doubts, her loneliness, and her pride.”

The angel looked again at her, obviously impressed. “Lord, you are a genius. You have thought of everything, Indeed your creation is marvelous.”

The Lord nodded His head in agreement. “Indeed she is marvelous for she has strengths that amaze the man. She can handle trouble and hold happiness and love. She can smile when she feels like dying, and sing when she feels like screaming or crying. She fights for what she believes in and stands on her convictions. She doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer when she even suspects that there is a better solution. She sacrifices and gives of herself so family and friends can thrive. Her love is unconditional. She rejoices when anyone she knows has a victory or receives a blessing and she does not envy. Her heart is broken when a wrong goes unpunished, or a friend or relative dies, but she looks up, and she finds the strength to go on.”

The angel agreed with all that the Lord had said. He stood there in the quiet and was startled when he heard the sound of a small sob. He looked up to see the Lord crying. “Lord, why ever are you crying?”

The Lord wiped the tears from His own face and looked into the angel’s eyes. “There is only one thing wrong with her.” He hesitated and the angel beckoned for Him to continue. The Lord bent down and kissed His creation’s forehead. “She forgets what she is worth.” He marveled at His creation for a few minutes longer before He completed her…….

Oh, to be all that we were created to be, and as we get closer and closer, may we never forget our creator.

P.S. For my guy friends out there, there are many characteristics missing from this list of wonderful attributes in women; that’s because you are everything we are not…..

“No, she’s not too much work; she’s just the favorite in my heart.” This is just so awesome to think no matter how much I mess up in my life, my wonderful Father still keeps me as a “favorite” in his heart. This motivates me to work harder at living a life pleasing to my Father because He loved me first and oh so much. Have a very blessed week.
    Loving hugs, Sherrie
