Faith-Filled Friday at Coffee Hour with Chicklit Power

Thanks for joining me for our Faith-Filled Friday! Grab your coffee and let’s get back to where we left off. We were talking about things that we can’t see with our physical eyes but we can see them with the eyes of our heart, aka, our spiritual eyes.

So something pretty incredible happened to me just last week and it has everything to do with faith and things that we don’t necessarily capture with the physical eyes. If you can imagine this, and maybe you can’t but maybe you can: there I was one day whining out to God; yes, I said whining! 🙂 🙁 🙂 I was complaining while asking, meaning I wasn’t quite sure of the answer and was complaining at the same time. In other words, I probably looked like a petulant two-year-old needing her diaper changed! 🙂 🙂 Just kidding; something tells me He looked in my heart and knows my frustration, my weariness.

Here’s what I was whining about: “God, why can’t stuff you give me to write make it out there? Why are some people ‘lucky’ and ‘blessed,’ while some of us have to constantly climb the upward mountain while trying to do/write a good thing? Why does this have to be so hard?” Whew, I’m really being vulnerable with you now! I told you I was whining!

See, I was talking about the writing, and petitioning Him to allow others to share what they read from Him and me, not because I want to be famous; I swear that’s not the intent of my heart. But sometimes, writing is just like being a prophet; it is a lonely gifting and oftentimes, you never know if someone is reading it and then if they are, if it is encouraging them in their day. So talk about faith being something I can’t see! This whole writing journey that has led me to you has been faith-based. 🙂

Anyway, I need to get to the good stuff, the stuff you can’t necessarily see, and I give Him all the glory, the one in Whom my faith and hope are in! So that day, after my whining, I made a divine connection on Facebook via a friend request from our end. That new “friend” accepted us as friends, and then I did what we always do to share encouragement by thanking him for his Facebook connection and then inviting him to join us for coffee and A Cup of Hope Monday through Friday and I inserted the link.

Within a half hour, there was a message in my inbox from my new friend who happens to be part of a huge Christian network blog.

I was so going to keep you hanging until next Friday, but I just can’t, especially since I know a couple of you who read faithfully, so I’ll keep going for you!

This new friend had been to our Chicklit Power website and had seen the blog. He asked how many subscribers I/we had and if I would be interested in being a guest blogger on their sight. I answered right away by letting him know I’d love to be a guest blogger, and I dodged the question of how many subscribers! He added a quick note in another message: We have over 25,000 subscribers! He then asked me to submit a 4-500 word blog and he would take a look at it and let me know.

Okay, so I’ll admit, I didn’t recognize right away that this was God’s answer to my whining, but when I finally sat still later, I recognized what I had not seen earlier: God had heard my whining and was granting me the desire of my heart, to reach out to the as many as we could at one time!

Incidentally, the next day I sent him a blog 498 words in length, and the day after that, he sent me his approval and told me he’d be sharing it on their blog site, which is www.dailysignsofhope.com and that it would be coming out on Thursday in Australia and Friday in California! (That happened last Friday!)

That most certainly helped clean the walls of my own hall of faith! Think of a time where you know that you know that you know that He heard you and answered you, even if you didn’t recognize it right away!

Rejoicing,

Evinda
