Thanks so much for joining me for a little break today, the day we are resuming with more of Nana Holds. Grab your coffee and come on in.

I think we left off with a positive direction as it relates to potty training and the beauty of second chances. Yes, God is our God of second chances. So Bryden is getting the hang of peeing in the potty, still experiencing a bit of fear and anxiety of letting the other go in the potty, but we were making progress.

Meanwhile, our court date for permanent guardianship was getting closer. I believe I shared previously that his biological mom was on board with us. She actually vocalized that Bryden being with us was the best for him and for his daddy, too. I wish I could go into detail about the miracle of that realization that kept her from fighting us and making our lives miserable but out of respect for her, I won’t. Besides, two wrongs don’t make a right.

But the road to guardianship was not to be without a fight after all. Her parents served us with papers “just to ensure they got their monthly visit with him” they said. The crazy thing was we realized we were in the middle of their feud, not intentionally, just that’s the way these people work; they are all about creating drama and they never realize their the drama king/queen of their show. Nor do they think about the mess they make in their production. George and I

recognized it for what it was and even though she and her parents inadvertently put us in the middle, hurling darts at each other over our heads, we remained on solid ground dodging their misfires. We could clearly see their crazy cycle and they were oblivious to it.

Our day in court came and talk about an out-of-body experience! Oh, Bryden, if I could paint a picture for you with words, this is what I would say: All of us were gathered, joined by one common thread, a thread that has since turned into a twine and is fast approaching a thick unbreakable rope: Love. As dysfunctional as all this is, I know in my soul we love you, Bryden, and for such a time as this, you belong with us.

Join me tomorrow for our day in court!
