Nana Holds-From Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Thanks so much for joining me today for a little break. If you join me Monday through Friday for our Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power, I hope you enjoyed the Coffee in Kauai series. Today we’re going to pick back up with the Nana Holds series so grab your coffee and come on in where we left off.

So we’re a few weeks into this now, and we’re starting to get a couple routines going. Like I shared previously, my first favorite time was bath time; at least that was where I first learned how to relax and have some fun with him on his level, hunkered down over the bathtub, splashing while washing, and giggling too, and winding up almost as wet as him.

After several weeks, I began to see another time that was turning into a favorite: dinner time – that is when we weren’t trying to coerce Bryden to eat. I’m not sure how long it was before

Bryden with his bigger, better bowl!

Bryce finally joined us on the no sugar page before dinner, but when he did, it made for good eating! And good memories, too!

I’m not exactly sure when, but I began to look forward to dinnertime, a time when we all sat down together as a family, talked about the day, and as I’ve said before, we even talked about difficult things that would have been more difficult to approach had it not been for the family dinners.

The crazy thing is I remember longing for this exact thing years ago, a family and family dinners. Now I can’t say that this was the way that I had imagined that dream turning into a reality, but then again, the one who longed for this very thing so many years ago is not the same person that experienced it as it came to be.

Daddy Holds!

One thing that did take some getting used to – actually a couple of things that required some adjusting as it related to our dinnertimes and that was the grocery bill. Holy Moly did that ever increase; but then again, we were going out to eat a lot less and staying in more. Besides, grocery shopping became a for-sure thing, more time with George. Oh, I can just see Him smiling now as I write this and stop and pause for a moment as a thought goes running through my mind and stops in my heart. He will use all things to help us get better at marriage if we will let Him. Oh, yes, grocery shopping became a team effort!

Another big adjustment was the discipline it takes to cook every night. If I’m honest with myself and you, I’m not a big fan of cooking. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t despise it or anything, but when it comes to cooking, well, that’s just not one of my gifts. 🙂

I had better let you go for now. Please join me tomorrow for more revelations from this season of Nana Holds.

Joyfully,

Evinda

Funny about dinner family time. That is when Jesus did a lot of revelation/miracles during or around meals. Miracle of water into wine(the first one)a wedding feast. Loaves and fishes come to mind more then once he used this reminder of who supplys. And , of course, the Last Supper filled with big time revelations. Yep, there is something supernatural about communion
