Thanks for coming by for more of Nana Holds, a series that I’ve been writing for you as well as for myself, a way of journaling the journey and being able to see the changes with a glimpse in the not so distant past. Grab your coffee and come on in.

By now, we have several routines established and each one of them have gone a long way in building the frame and coloring it in for this precious little boy whom God is using to accomplish so many things for so many of us. The sort of comforting thing about all that we have gone through and are still to overcome is that I know in my heart He will waste none of it; that it will bring comfort to others because as this series has shown, we have received comfort; we are being transformed, others’ testimonies are being written while others are being redeemed!

There isn’t a week that goes by that I don’t hear of a new situation that mirrors ours in some way, the frame of each mirror being that the grandparents are stepping in and stepping up to take over as parents.

website mission statement cloud 200xOh, how important it is that we are the mirror of His love to these children. It’s almost like God is using us to give them a chance, using us, the grandparents, to redeem this generation, bring them back from where they have strayed. Oh, how I get goose bumps at the change in my attitude for it is now a responsibility to revel in and not one to cringe at, or to run and hide from. No, those of us who find ourselves in these circumstances must take the X out of the external situation and bring the eternal value into the equation. The spiritual heritage of these children may very well hinge on us stepping in and stepping up!

Okay, I’ll get off my soap box now. Let’s get back to more revelations and poignant moments brought about all because of this little boy and our great big God! Where were we? Oh, that’s right, grocery shopping. Every time we go through

checkout, there’s not a checker or bagger who doesn’t comment on Bryden’s “cute” factor and most of the time he just soaks it up, knowing they are talking about him, but acting like he didn’t hear it!

I love, love, love to watch him engage, which he seems to do quite easily and with such childlike innocence, and overflowing emotion. He has such expression in his tone, no matter what he’s saying, and in addition to being a little jock with great sportsman propensities I can’t help but think he may like the camera, too, like the stage camera! More proof of that came just a couple months after Christmas, but I’d better not jump ahead!

Join me tomorrow for more memories that make the heart smile,

Evinda, aka, Nana
