It’s so good to share this time with you. I marvel at the changes taking place in my heart since this series began all those months ago, all because of a little boy and a great big God who loves me, and you. Grab your coffee and come on in.

So after running to the car and putting the groceries away – he definitely likes to help – then we get home and begin to carry them into the house and put them away, another part of the process that he must be included in. He already has such a great work ethic!

While we unpack and put things away, Jene’, Bryce’s new girlfriend, rings the doorbell. I guess I should rewind and introduce you to her because I just realized that this is such a big piece of this story and I just threw her in it! So, allow me to introduce you to her.

God brought her into my life about seven years ago. I met her through the chiropractor’s office in Diamond Bar that we used to go to – still do when I’m in need of a miracle. Anyway, she’s the office manager’s

daughter and to make that long story short, court reporting was the bridge laid to fill our gap. She began going to court reporting school and I began to sort of mentor and encourage her in the journey.

We began to spend quite a bit of time together and she was like part of our family. In fact, so much so, that she and Bryce sort of hit it off right away, but he was still on the roller coaster ride in the midst of a love/hate relationship with bio-mom, and she was on and off with her roller-coaster relationship, so it never really went anywhere.

After that happened, she came around less, and even moved away for awhile and she went to school elsewhere. A couple of years later, she came back. She was still on her roller coaster ride, though not as committed, and Bryden was now part of the picture in Bryce’s life.

When God intervened last June, George “ran into” Jene’ and her parents – talk about God-incidence! Anyway, he

conveyed to them what had taken place and he said that Jene’s eyes filled up with tears – she’s a tough but gentle girl and she is not prone to a public display of tears!

Well, the ashes from their story that began years ago began to kindle because the first couple of visits we shared with Bryce over in Riverside at The Castle, TC, he actually mentioned her, said he had blown it with her and asked if he could have her number in case he ever got brave enough to call her.

And so I called her and asked her permission to give the number and she said sure, and she sort of hesitated. “Are you sure?” I asked.

“Yeah, I am. I was just wondering if there was any way I could see him.”

So sometime in November, she became an important part of our Sundays and going to see Daddy at work.

Join me Thursday for more routines and memories that have added to this journey.
