Oh, Little Children . . . Part III from Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power

Welcome back to our WOW for May, and thanks so much for joining me for Coffee Hour. I know Wednesdays are a sort of power thought, but I didn’t feel comfortable interrupting this WOW, so we’ll push Wednesday’s Word over to Friday for Power Friday and then get back to Faith-Filled Friday next week! 🙂 We have a few series going on. Grab whatever you’re having and come on in. We are actually to the last half of the verse, and I can’t tell you how many times I have confessed this verse, both to myself and to others!

Moving on, “… because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

As a reminder, it’s extremely important that we remember that John is using the term “spirit” as it relates to false prophets/teachers. At first I didn’t really get the connection, but after prayerful deliberation, and some help from my pastor, it is logical to surmise that that any kind of false message/prophet brings with it a spirit of oppression, which is a form of bondage, and only the truth can set us free. But we cannot discern spiritual things with our physical selves. Our spirit is what helps us discern spiritual matters. Scripture tells us that our war is against principalities that we can’t see, aka, in the spirit realm and any spirit that opposes God is antichrist in nature.

So because of that we can say, He (the Spirit of Christ) who is in _____ (put your name there) is greater than he – any false teacher, any false message whether from yourself to yourself or from another to you, any antichrist spirit – who is in the world!

In the world,” do you see that? We are in this world but not of this world. That oppressive spirit is the evil one and is in the world and not in you, not in me! Oh that we as His little children, teachable ones, would live like we believe this!

We’re almost done! Join me tomorrow for the conclusion which may include you!

Love,

Evinda
