Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power- Let Freedom Ring

Welcome to Coffee Hour @ Chicklit Power, and thanks so much for stopping by, especially since today is considered another holiday in observance of the 4th of July. Grab whatever you’re having and come on in. I have some photos I’d like to share with you to celebrate our freedom.

What a special weekend this was, and what a special day yesterday was. As I look back and think of all the 4th of July’s I’ve celebrated, this has to be the best, the most sweetest one spent with many of my favorite people in the whole world.

The 4th of July is a day we celebrate freedom, and I am not ignorant of the price that our service men and women have paid and continue to pay for it. I do so appreciate that freedom and as I watched my son play in the pool with his little girl, and I looked on as my BFF’s little boy Josh extended his heart out in friendship to my little grandson Dillan — whom he’s heard so much about over the past year — my heart soared with a different kind of freedom, freedom from old wounds and broken relationships, freedom from old habits that destroy everything and everyone you love, freedom to enjoy the restoration made possible by Our Heavenly Father who overcame evil with good when He sent His Son to serve and die for us. Oh, what a cost!

And I know He was up there smiling as He looked down and could literally feel the sunshine in my heart, touch the joy that sparked off me as I played with my granddaughter on Josh’s little bike, and threw the football to Dillan and Josh, and chased Josh and Ty-Ty around as Josh rode her on his three-wheeler. Yes, it was like a little heaven on earth yesterday, and I’m so grateful to Him for all of it.

Mother & Son...

Thank you, Janine...

Janine and I marveled as we watched Jeff and Lauren parent their kids. They are both so calm and attentive, so patient — though Lauren has always been that way– to see my son be the dad he’s becoming is nothing short of a miracle, one that I want to share with the world and give God the glory for, because he gives all the glory to God as well.

You know for those of you who have prodigal kids, please, don’t stop praying for them, don’t give up because God NEVER does. For some reason, they have to travel their journey and learn from their mistakes, not ours, but their testimony is one day gonna add to the joy of the freedom from all the pain of the past.

Double the Joy...

Thanks for letting me share with you, and please join me and Steve today on Blog Talk Radio at 1:00 p.m. as we talk about the developing self, and self-esteem, such an important principle in the issue of dating/courting. Have an awesome day.
